A Meta Catalogue feed that ships in minutes
Generate a valid Meta Catalogue XML feed for Facebook Shops, Instagram Shopping tags, and Advantage+ ads.
Auto-mapped attributes, VAT-inclusive prices, custom labels, and scheduled fetch - from any Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, or CSV source.
No credit card required.

Connect a store (or upload a CSV), configure the Meta mapping, and paste the public XML URL into Commerce Manager. Snapshots refresh every 6 hours and invalidate instantly on product-update webhooks, so Advantage+ campaigns always see current stock.
Set up in 5 steps
- 1
Connect your store or upload a CSV
Add a store from the dashboard: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, or CSV / Manual upload. One store powers Google, Meta, Bing, and TikTok feeds simultaneously.
- 2
Configure the Meta field mapping
Open the store → Configure Meta feed. AiFeedOptimiser suggests mappings for id, title, description, availability, condition, price, sale_price, link, image_link, brand, and item_group_id. Adjust any field, add custom_label_0-4 for ad segmentation, and apply filters.
- 3
Preview the generated XML
The Preview tab shows the exact <item> block Meta will ingest, including UTF-8 encoding, currency formatting, and availability normalisation. Fix missing required fields before submitting.
- 4
Copy the public feed URL
From the store detail page copy /feeds/{storeId}/meta-catalog.xml. This URL is public but tokenised by store ID and served with a 1-hour cache plus a 6-hour snapshot refresh so Meta always sees a fresh feed.
- 5
Add the feed in Commerce Manager
Commerce Manager → Catalogue → Data sources → Add items → Use bulk upload → Scheduled feed. Paste the URL, choose hourly or daily fetch, and Meta will start ingesting your products.
Meta Catalogue attribute reference
These are the fields Meta reads from the feed. Required attributes must be present or AiFeedOptimiser refuses to serve the feed with a clear 422 error.
| Attribute | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| id | Yes | Unique SKU or variant ID. Must match the ID Meta pixel sends on view/purchase events for dynamic ads to work. |
| title | Yes | Up to 150 characters. First 65 shown in most placements. |
| description | Yes | Up to 9,999 characters. Meta strips most HTML. |
| availability | Yes | 'in stock', 'out of stock', 'preorder', or 'available for order'. AiFeedOptimiser normalises platform values automatically. |
| condition | Yes | 'new', 'refurbished', or 'used'. Defaults to 'new'. |
| price | Yes | Numeric + currency, e.g. '19.99 GBP'. Inclusive of 20% UK VAT. |
| link | Yes | Direct URL to the product page. Must be HTTPS and publicly accessible. |
| image_link | Yes | Direct URL to the main image. Minimum 500x500 px for Advantage+ placements. |
| brand | Yes | Brand name. Uses store vendor / manufacturer field by default. |
| sale_price | Optional | Optional. When set, Meta shows a strikethrough price in Shops. |
| item_group_id | Optional | Groups variants of the same product. Required if you sell colour/size variants and want them merged in Shops. |
| google_product_category | Optional | Optional but recommended for Advantage+ shopping - improves ad targeting. |
| custom_label_0-4 | Optional | Optional Meta-specific ad segmentation labels (e.g. margin bucket, seasonality, campaign). |
Common Meta feed rejection reasons
Non-HTTPS image URLs
Meta requires all image_link URLs to be HTTPS. AiFeedOptimiser flags HTTP images in the health dashboard.
Missing item_group_id on variants
Without item_group_id, colour/size variants show as separate products in Shops. Map your platform's parent/group ID.
Availability mismatched with pixel
Meta cross-checks feed availability with pixel view events. Use webhooks so out-of-stock updates hit the feed within seconds.
Price without currency code
Meta expects '19.99 GBP' not '19.99'. AiFeedOptimiser always emits the currency code, and VAT is included by default.
Why merchants pick AiFeedOptimiser for Meta
Instant sync via webhooks
Product updates in Shopify or WooCommerce invalidate the Meta snapshot immediately, so Advantage+ ads never spend on out-of-stock SKUs.
Advantage+ ready
Required attributes, image size checks, and item_group_id validation are enforced before the feed is served, so Meta accepts it on first fetch.
One catalogue, four channels
The same store connection powers Google, Meta, Bing, and TikTok feeds with independent mappings, filters, and rules - no duplicate work.
AI-optimised titles
The AI optimiser rewrites Meta titles for social placements - shorter, benefit-led, and consistent with your ad creative.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a Meta Catalogue feed?
- A Meta Catalogue feed is an XML or CSV file containing your product data that Meta uses to power Facebook Shops, Instagram Shopping tags, dynamic ads (Advantage+ shopping campaigns), and collaborative ads. AiFeedOptimiser generates the XML version at a public URL that Meta fetches on a schedule.
- How is a Meta feed different from a Google Shopping feed?
- Both use similar attributes, but Meta requires fewer fields (no google_product_category, no shipping node), uses different availability values ('in stock', 'out of stock', 'preorder'), and supports Facebook-specific attributes like rich_text_description and custom_label_0-4. AiFeedOptimiser maps everything automatically.
- Which platforms can I connect for a Meta feed?
- All of them. Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop via API, or CSV upload for any other source. The same store connection can serve Google, Meta, Bing, and TikTok feeds in parallel with independent field mappings.
- How do I submit the feed URL to Meta Commerce Manager?
- In Commerce Manager, open your catalogue → Data sources → Add items → Use bulk upload → Scheduled feed, then paste the /feeds/{storeId}/meta-catalog.xml URL from your AiFeedOptimiser store detail page. Set the schedule to hourly or daily.
- Are prices shown inclusive of VAT?
- Yes. AiFeedOptimiser emits VAT-inclusive prices by default so what shoppers see in ads matches what they pay at checkout. Meta does not add tax on top of feed prices in the UK.
